Viscoelastic fluids can be difficult to model due the wide range of different physical behaviors that polymer melts exhibit. One such feature is viscous elastic boundary layer. We address particular problem a viscoelastic shear-dependent fluid flowing past corner and investigate how properties layer change for White-Metzner fluid. The equations are derived upstream matched with far-field flow. It was found if sufficiently shear thinning then formulation fails inertial forces becoming dominant. depth controlled by shear-thinning parameters. These effects not other models, as Phan-Thien-Tanner model. This study provides insight in some commonly used models flows layer, downstream addressed.
